Muzaffarpur. In a rapid‑response operation close to Kalyambagh Chowk, personnel from the Kazimohammadpur police station arrested two men found in possession of 80 grams of cannabis. The detainees were escorted to the station, where Station House Officer Chandrabhushan Kumar Singh recorded an FIR and set the subsequent legal process in motion.

Extended Sweep and Continuing Investigation

Following the apprehensions, police carried out night‑time searches at several sites that emerged from the suspects' statements. Investigators are now analysing the intelligence supplied by the arrestees to chart a broader drug‑trafficking network.

Recent weeks have witnessed more than two dozen arrests throughout the area, with seizures that have included:

  • Cannabis (ganja)
  • Smack
  • Heroin
  • Brown sugar

Enforcement Efforts Reach Vaishali

The anti‑narcotics campaign has now spilled over into the neighboring Vaishali district. Three days earlier, Ahiyapur police raided a location near the Bairiya Bus Stand, confiscating 28.06 kg of cannabis and taking Maharaj Mithun Kumar of Bhagwanpur into custody.

During subsequent interrogations, officers learned of additional operatives based in Vaishali. Earlier in the week, a joint task force seized 185 grams of heroin and smack from three alleged couriers near Chandni Chowk. The suspects—Vikram Kumar, Sakaldeep Rai (both from Jadua, under Nagar police jurisdiction) and Sonu Kumar Rai of Bidupur—have been detained, and the probe continues to uncover further links in the trafficking chain.
