In the year 2017, Congress played a bet on its spokesperson and Congress Committee Vice President Suryakant Dhasmana in this seat. In which he again failed. People did not leave their MLA’s side and with a 56.99 vote percentage victory, Harbans Kapoor took oath as MLA for the eighth time. The victory for eight consecutive times is enough to show how strong his hold is among the masses, after the sudden demise of Harbans Kapoor, the search for his political successor has begun. Each seat is crucial for the BJP to remain in power. In such a situation, the party has started the search for the strongest contender on the invincible seat.

Jogendra Pundir’s claim is the strongest
From the family of Harbansh Kapoor to the leaders who have been continuously active in the area, the eyes of the party organization and the high command are on. If BJP sources are to be believed, the name which is the strongest among all the contenders is that of senior leader Jogendra Pundir. Senior BJP leader Jogendra Pudin is active in Dehradun and Cantt seats for more than 30 years. Jogendra Pundir, who has held various positions in the organization, is a constantly visible face with every needy among the society. When talking to the general public in different areas in the Cantt Assembly, everyone said in one voice that Jogendra Singh Pundir is seen standing with every needy. He is continuously serving the people in the social field with full honesty, integrity, and selflessness.

Jogendra Pundir told that in the year 1988, he took the primary membership of the Bharatiya Janata Party and, following the guidance of the Sangh, discharged the responsibilities and duties of various posts. He held various positions in the Bharatiya Janata Party from time to time. At the same time, from the Uttarakhand movement to the BJP, he was also a part of various campaigns and led the party. At present, Vice President Kisan Morcha is the National Executive Member of Uttarakhand BJP and is continuously giving his services to the party in Kisan Morcha.
