Dehradun. An initiative by the Government of India is Saathi (System for Evaluation, Awareness, and Training for the Hospitality Industry) that maintains a self-reliant India by supporting industries to grow small industries globally. This initiative focuses on maintaining the trust and confidence of the tourists as well as the employees in the hospitality industry Post Covid-19.

This initiative is currently applicable to hotels, restaurants, B2B / homestays. The Saathi app is divided into three stages, in which self-certification, capacity building, will help hoteliers, restaurants, and others to properly follow the guidelines of Covid 19. Site evaluation, which checks on land implementation to identify gaps.

Talking about this initiative being undertaken by the Government of India, Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj said, “Partner Covid-19 has help and involvement with the hospitality industry to meet the challenges. The best thing about this initiative is that it is associated with the vision of self-reliant India of our honorable PM Narendra Modi. I would request all concerned stakeholders of Uttarakhand to actively register themselves in this initiative and take full advantage of it. He said that there is a need to make Saathi more popular, for this, it can be combined with travel aggregators like MakeMyTrip and Goibibo to make it possible to reach a large number of people.

Secretary Tourism Dilip Javalkar said, “More than 320 units have already registered themselves under the Saathi initiative in Uttarakhand. The partner will maintain the security quotient in the state and empower our stakeholders in the tourism industry. We are sure that we will increase the above numbers in the coming days.
