New Delhi. Congress has termed the leaders who left the party after the resignation of Ghulam Nabi Azad as A team of BJP. Former J&K unit president of Congress GA Mir said the leaders who left the party under Azad’s leadership are part of the BJP’s A-team. Mir said that the fate of Ghulam Nabi would also be the same as that of former Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh. Mir said, till now we used to call them B-team, C-team of BJP for some parties in Jammu and Kashmir. But now they (Azad-led group) are coming forward as A-team. The curtain is being raised, and the people of J&K will decide what will happen to them. At a time when all Congress workers were thinking that such a big leader (Ghulam Nabi Azad) would stand with the party, unfortunately, he parted ways.

Questioning the timing of Azad’s resignation, Mir said he should have waited for Congress President Sonia Gandhi to return from abroad. Mir said that the whole country knows that now there are only two groups in the country. He said, on one hand, the party thinking of breaking India is in power and on the other hand the Congress party under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi is working to unite and unite the country.

Taj Mohiuddin also left Congress
The Jammu and Kashmir unit of the Congress suffered another setback on Sunday when its senior leader and former minister Taj Mohiuddin quit the party. He joined the front led by Ghulam Nabi Azad. Mohiuddin, however, made it clear that the Azad-led group would not enter into any agreement with the BJP, but would forge an alliance with the National Conference or the PDP. Mohiuddin said, “Today, I have written a letter to the Congress President and General Secretary and others saying that I am resigning from all the posts which I held, including the primary membership of the Congress.

The former minister said the Azad-led party has nothing to do with the BJP and that his relationship with Prime Minister Narendra Modi is personal and not political. Mohiuddin said, “Azad’s association with Modi does not mean that he has political ties… Some people allege that he has some ties with the BJP.” Personal relations and political relations are always different. He was Minister of Parliamentary Affairs twice and had good relations with the opposition at that time.

Azad’s supporters hold meetings in Jammu
Hundreds of leaders and workers resigned from the Congress after Ghulam Nabi Azad, held a meeting on Sunday under the leadership of former Jammu and Kashmir minister G M Saroori. Azad (73), who resigned from the Congress on August 26, is scheduled to reach Jammu on September 4. He has announced the formation of a new party in Jammu and Kashmir. More than 500 prominent Congress leaders and workers, including councilors, panchayat members, and block level leaders, have resigned from the party in support of Azad, Saroori said. The meeting was called to give a message that we are all with Azad.

In the coming days, you will see leaders from across the country joining Azad’s party, Saroori said. As Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir are likely to be held on November 25 after the completion of the special revision of the electoral rolls, Azad’s focus is here. The new party will contest all the 90 assembly seats and we are confident that Azad will be the next Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir.
