Pithoragarh. On Sunday morning, the earth of Pithoragarh, the frontier district of Uttarakhand, was shaken by the tremors of the earthquake. An earthquake measuring 3.8 on the Richter scale was felt at Talla Johar in Munsiyari and Tejam tehsil areas at 8:58 am. According to the Disaster Management Department, the epicenter of the earthquake was near Ruinathal and Uprada Pathak on the banks of the Ramganga river in the Pithoragarh district. Its depth was ten km. There is no report of any damage.

Earthquake tremors were felt in the Uttarkashi district on January 12 last. The epicenter of the earthquake, which occurred at around 2:12 am, was recorded in Uttarkashi. The intensity of the earthquake was measured at 2.9. Earthquake tremors were felt late at night in Uttarkashi in the month of December also. On December 18, the earth was shaken by an earthquake in Uttarkashi at around 1.50 am.
