Dehradun. Due to heavy rains at various places of the district, on receipt of information about water entering people’s homes, breaking river side wall, food, and other material getting spoiled, today District Magistrate Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar did an On-site inspection of Adhoiwala, Kewal Bihar, IT Park, Santala Devi, Khabarwala, Galjwadi, and Chukkhuwala areas.

The District Magistrate distributed food kits along with aid to the people affected by the disaster. During this, the District Magistrate first made a field visit to Keval Vihar and Adhoiwala areas along with the concerned officers and gave instructions to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate Sadar and Tehsildar Sadar to provide immediate relief to the people of the area. After this, inspected the IT Park affected by the problem of water logging and instructed the concerned departmental officers to take necessary action.

During his on-site visit, the District Magistrate reached Santala Devi and Khabarwala, and Galjwadi and people are facing various problems due to breaking of the river side wall, water entering the houses, and debris on the road at many places. Along with this, the officers of PWD, Irrigation, and Revenue Departments were directed to assess the damage caused by heavy rains and submit the estimates. He assured the people that whatever possible help is to be given by the district administration, it will be given immediately.

The District Magistrate asked the PWD officials to take necessary action to provide necessary facilities to the people in case of waterlogging and breaking of the river side wall, road damage at many places. He conducted an on-site inspection of the damage caused by drains in the Santala Devi area and Galjwadi, Khabarwala Indra Nagar area and also asked the concerned officers to take necessary steps to solve the problems of the people. After this, the District Magistrate reached Chukkhuwala locality, here he saw the problems like debris coming in all the houses, waterlogging, food spoilage and shortage of drinking water and the district administration gave immediate help and food kit to the people, local Vidyayak Khajan Das made available in the presence of

During this, Regional Vidyalaya Khajan Das and District Magistrate Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar assured all possible help from the Divine Disaster Item to all the people affected by the disaster. During the inspection, the local people demanded that the electric poles located in the middle of the Bindal river should be shifted and drinking water should be provided, on this, the District Magistrate directed the Executive Engineer Hydel and the officers of the Drinking Water Department to solve the problems of the people immediately.
