Historical day of ‘valor and Courage’ on 16th December in the military history of India

Dehradun. Every year in our country, 16th December is celebrated as Vijay Diwas. It was on this day in the year 1971 that India defeated Pakistan in the war. In the year 1971, the Pakistani army had knelt in front of the Indian army and Bangladesh got independence. This year the 50th anniversary of Vijay Diwas is being celebrated in the country and on this occasion, many leaders have extended warm wishes to the countrymen on ‘Vijay Divas.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today participated in the reception of Golden Victory torches at the National War Memorial. These four torches, lit by the Prime Minister last year, were rotated across the country from Siachen to Kanyakumari, Andaman, and Nicobar to Longewala, Rann of Kutch, and Agartala.

On the occasion of Vijay Diwas, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami paid homage to the martyred soldiers by laying a wreath at the Martyrs Memorial at Gandhi Park, Dehradun on Thursday. The Chief Minister has said that December 16 is a historic day of valor and valor in the military history of India. Saluting the soldiers who laid down their lives for the unity and integrity of the country, the Chief Minister said that because of these jawans, everyone sleeps peacefully.
