Dehradun. In Uttarakhand, a three-tier task force has been constituted by CM Dhami to crack down on the drug mafia. Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) will work in both ranges. Both these units will work under the supervision of the Norca Coordination Center (ENCORD). ANTF will be able to seize properties along with action against drug smugglers. Both the task forces will also undertake awareness campaigns at several levels and also to rescue people trapped in the drug trap.

DGP Ashok Kumar said that recently, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had given approval for this task force. The task force will be at the state, district, and police station levels. In the state, its head will be ADG crime and law and order at the state level, while SSP STF will be the nodal officer. At the district level, the NTF Chief SP Crime or CO will be the operation. The police in the districts will work under the supervision of the Captain. The station in charge will be the nodal officer at the police station level. Personnel from the police will be selected for this task force. ANTF will collect the data on NDPS Act at various levels of NCB meetings.

This will help in taking effective action against drug smugglers. The task force will also conduct regular checking of de-addiction centers in all the districts in coordination with the representatives. NTF will prepare the criminal history of all the old criminals and drug smugglers. If need be, the task of carrying out restrictions will also be the responsibility of the force. Told that this force will also be able to confiscate the properties of people involved in drug smuggling. The most important task of this task force will be to prevent drug abuse by coordinating with other departments and de-addiction centers at the central and state level.

The focus will also be on educational institutions
The DGP said that at present drug smugglers have trapped educational institutions on the web. Therefore, it is necessary to break this trap. For this, awareness programs will be conducted in educational institutions. Apart from this, intelligence will also be activated near these institutions, so that those who target them can be easily reached.

ANTF personnel will also be monitored
Encord will function as a secretariat. Its center will be in the STF office. It will review the decisions taken at several levels. Apart from this, to create transparency, the employees appointed in ANTF will also be monitored. If their involvement with criminals is found, action will be taken. Every month the Director General of Police will review the works of ANTF and Encord.
