CM Trivendra Singh Rawat had announced from the dais at the Rabaar-2 conference five days ago that “Cannabis/Marijuana will change life, but people don’t understand.” After all, the Chief Minister himself had to understand why this is happening to him.

Actually, the Raj Bhavan itself got caught in confusion by the decision of the Uttarakhand government, and Raj Bhavan returned the government’s file related to cannabis/Marijuana. But the government once again sent the file to the Raj Bhavan, the Raj Bhavan had returned the file again.

Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat tried to explain a lot but its totally wrong message was going to the public. To allow the cultivation of cannabis, the government had amended the Uttarakhand Zamindari and Land System Act. But when the Raj Bhavan did not sign, then this ordinance was recalled from the Governor. This ordinance was in the Raj Bhavan for about six months.

In the Cabinet meeting on June 4, in the name of promoting industries, it was approved to buy or lease more than 12.5 acres of land. In this approval, the government had secretly added the provision of cannabis cultivation, but when this ordinance remained in the Raj Bhavan for 3 months, then after making some changes, the government again sent the ordinance to the Raj Bhavan but when nothing happened for the whole 6 months Then the government withdrew this ordinance and removed the proposal to cultivate Marijuana/Cannabis from it and now added alternative energy, tea plantation, processing agriculture, etc.

With this rollback, it is believed that the Uttarakhand government has now pulled back its hands from Cannabis/Marijuana.
