Of this, the state’s share in central taxes of Rs 47,234 crores and revenue deficit grant of Rs 28,147 crores.

Dehradun. A total of Rs 89,845 crore has been recommended to Uttarakhand by the 15th Finance Commission. Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, 15th Finance Commission Chairman Shri NK Singh, and all the members of the Commission on this. He said that this will help Uttarakhand in running development plans. The state has always been supported by the Prime Minister and the Central Government. The Commission understood the State’s stand and gave its important recommendations. The Chief Minister said that the villages which have been deprived of the roads will be connected to the villages after getting a large amount in PMGSY. Adequate funds have also been recommended in disaster management. This will certainly help in further strengthening disaster management in the state. Strengthening of Panchayati Raj institutions in the state will also help.

Significantly, a total of Rs 89,845 crore has been recommended to Uttarakhand by the 15th Finance Commission. Of this, the state’s share in central taxes amounting to Rs 47,234 crores. The state’s share in central taxes has increased by 1.1 percent.

A revenue deficit grant of Rs 28,147 crore has been recommended to Uttarakhand. Uttarakhand has received a revenue deficit grant of Rs 5176 crore in the past. The amount of Rs 28147 Crore just recommended is in addition to that.

Similarly, being a disaster-prone state, Uttarakhand has been recommended Rs 5178 crore for disaster management.

An amount of Rs 2322 crore has been recommended in PMGSY. The highest amount has been sanctioned to Uttarakhand after Assam in PMGSY.

Apart from this, by the 15th Finance Commission, Rs. 4181 crores in local government, Rs. 728 crores in health, Rs. 25 crores in statistics, Rs. 70 crores in the judiciary, Rs. 83 crores in higher education, Rs. 277 crores in agriculture, 1600 crores in state-specific. Rupees amount has been recommended.

Thus a grant in aid of a total of Rs. 42611 crore has been recommended which includes a revenue deficit grant of Rs. 28147 crore.

The total amount recommended by the 15th Finance Commission on adding the state’s share in central taxes to the total grant in aid is Rs 89845 crore.
