In this regard, the Ministry of Transport has sent a draft regarding the amendment to the Motor Vehicle Act to the Secretary of Transport. Suggestions have been sought on this. With this, the way to make DL from 30 types of documents will be easy. Ministry of Road Transport has released the draft list of valid documents for driving license and registration certificate, which includes 30 documents to verify name, address, and age. The license can be taken through any one of these documents. The ministry has sought suggestions on this from all the stakeholders including the states till May 10. The ministry has said that this will make it easier for the people.

With this rule, many options will be available to people to prove their age, address, citizenship, etc. The scope of records that has been extended has been taken from the UIDAI documents that are used to update Aadhaar. Aadhaar Card, Voter Card, Life Insurance Policy, Passport, Service Certificate of State and Central Government Employees, School Living Certificate, Birth Certificate, PAN Card, Ration Card, Service Photograph ID Card of State or Central Government, Kisan Photograph Passbook, Disability A total of 30 documents such as ID card, MNREGA card, marriage certificate, 10th mark sheet, bank passbook, transgender ID card, visa, electricity-water bill, property tax receipt.

Right now, the Ministry of Transport has sought suggestions by issuing a notification on this. A suggestion on this will be sent by Uttarakhand’s Transport Secretary Arvind Singh Hyanki. After this, the ministry will issue its final notification. This facility will come into effect after the notification is issued.
