Health Department increased surveillance at all airports in the state

Kerala. The second case of monkeypox has been found in the country. Both the cases have been found in Kerala only. The man was admitted to Pariyaram Medical College in Kannur after he showed symptoms. His sample was sent to the National Institute of Virology where the report has come positive. State Health Secretary has confirmed this. This person had reached Mangaluru airport from abroad.

The health department of Kerala has increased surveillance at all five airports in the state. When the person reached the airport, he showed symptoms during the investigation, after which he was sent directly to the hospital. The first case of monkeypox was also found in Kerala. The man had returned from UAE. Taxi drivers, family members, and co-passengers who came in contact with him have also been kept under surveillance.
