Karnataka: Central Crime Branch Detained Actress Ragini Dwivedi in Drug Case

Kannada actress Ragini Dwivedi has been taken into custody by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) in an alleged drug case involving the Kannada film industry. Earlier, CCB searched his residence. According to police sources, a team of CCB reached Dwivedi’s residence at six in the morning.

The CCB had issued a notice to the actress on Wednesday asking them to appear but Dwivedi had sent a team of lawyers to seek time till Monday. The police then directed the actress to appear before them on Friday. CCB sources said that the actress will appear before the authorities today.

Meanwhile, the police said that they have arrested a person named Ravi, who has considerable penetration in the Kannada film industry. Ravi has been arrested in a narcotics case and sent to five days police custody by a court.

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested three people from Bangalore who are accused of supplying narcotics to singers and artists of the Kannada film industry. After which the CCB started a thorough investigation into the matter.

Filmmaker and journalist Inderjeet Lankesh has recorded his statement with CCB regarding drug use in Sandalwood. He said that at least 15 people of the film industry here are involved in the drug-related business.

Dwivedi is born in Bengaluru while his family hails from Rewari, Haryana. She appeared in Sandalwood in 2009 with the film ‘Veera Madakari’. At the same time, he got fame from films like Kempe Gowda, Ragini IPS, Bangari, and Shiva.
