In the tranquil Raipur sector of Dehradun, a gruesome incident claimed three lives. An 80‑year‑old patriarch, Ramesh Kapoor, his 75‑year‑old wife, Rajni Kapoor, and their 48‑year‑old domestic aide, Tiliya Devi – locally known as Sheila – were discovered lifeless after a disagreement with a plumber escalated into lethal violence.

Police Account: Payment Argument Spirals Into Murder

Investigators say the suspect, identified as Rajkumar, was summoned to the Kapoor home for routine plumbing repairs. Once the work was finished, a quarrel over the final bill allegedly broke out. The confrontation quickly turned violent, with the senior couple bearing the brunt of the assault. Sheila, who was attending to chores in a nearby residence, heard the uproar, rushed in to help, and was also attacked.

All three victims were rushed to Coronation Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

After the murders, Rajkumar tried to flee the area, but alert locals intercepted him and handed him over to the police. Authorities disclosed that he originates from Bijnor and had been staying in Indresh Nagar, Dehradun. Frequent visits to the Kapoor house meant he was familiar with the family’s daily routine.

Rajkumar is now in police custody while investigators reconstruct the chain of events that turned a payment dispute into a fatal encounter.
