Ramnagar. On Monday, Kumaon Divisional Commissioner Deepak Rawat visited the Ramnagar Tehsil office to audit revenue operations, pending court matters, and citizen‑related issues. He instructed staff to adhere to prescribed timelines and to accelerate procedural workflows.
While examining court‑pending cases, the Commissioner stressed that no matter should linger without a justified cause. He ordered regular hearings and urged swift disposal of all files in line with statutory provisions, warning against any avoidable holdups.
In the segment reviewing Section 143 applications concerning land‑use conversions, he mandated that every pending case be cleared within ten days, emphasizing transparency and punctuality in revenue matters.
Expressing dissatisfaction with the pattern of mutation files being rejected on the 35th day, the Commissioner directed that the Tehsildar provide a detailed explanation. He reiterated that mutation requests must be examined per the rules and resolved within the stipulated period.
The inspection also highlighted “Khurra” cases that have been stagnant for over two years. Noting this undue delay, the Commissioner ordered the concerned Patwaris to furnish explanations for the prolonged pendency.
He further instructed the Sub‑Divisional Magistrate (SDM) to continuously monitor all pending matters at the tehsil level, insisting that citizens should not be compelled to make repeated trips to government offices for revenue services. Streamlining of processes and quality, timely disposal of cases were emphasized.
During the visit, a group of advocates approached the Commissioner requesting the appointment of an Ahlmad at the tehsil office. He assured them that the posting would be prioritized and appealed to the legal community to help raise public awareness about mutation procedures.
Present at the meeting were Sub‑Divisional Magistrate Gopal Singh Chauhan, Tehsildar Manisha Makrana, along with other tehsil officials and staff.
