New Delhi. The Union Health Ministry has decided that the NEET PG 2022 exam has been postponed due to NEET PG 2021 counseling. The ministry has said that this year’s exam has been postponed by 6-8 weeks. NEET PG 2022 exam was to be conducted on March 12.

Indeed, in a petition, there was a demand to postpone the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) PG examination. This demand was made by a group of students in the Supreme Court by filing a petition. The new dates for the conduct of the examination will be reviewed by the committee of the Ministry and the National Board of Examinations after 6-8 weeks and will decide.

Students seeking admission to post-graduate medical courses had claimed in the petition that many MBBS graduate students would not be able to appear for the March 2022 NEET exam due to non-completion of the mandatory internship period. So the exam should be postponed. The petition, filed through Dubey Law Chambers by six MBBS graduates, had sought a direction to the National Board of Examinations to postpone the scheduled examination till the mandatory internship period of the candidates prescribed in the eligibility rules for the PG examination is completed. The petitioner’s students had contended that hundreds of MBBS graduates, whose internships were stuck due to their duty to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic. Hundreds of such students will miss out on appearing in the NEET PG 2022 exam due to not fulfilling this mandatory internship duty. Even though it’s not their fault. Therefore, the petition seeks to postpone the examination.

Through the petition, the condition given in the information bulletin of NEET PG, the deadline of May 31, 2022, for completion of the internship, was also challenged. The petitioners, with the support of 1500 candidates, have urged that they were on COVID duty in the year 2021 and hence their internship was postponed. In the petition, there has been a demand to extend the deadline for completing the internship from May 31 and then postpone the examination.
