Gurugram: After a week on the run, Kalyan Bainsla was taken into custody in Dausa, Rajasthan, for allegedly slamming his car into the motorcycle of rider Siya on Golf Course Road. The arrest follows an intensive manhunt launched by Gurugram police.

Case registration and initial charges

Following the incident, officers at the Sector‑56 police station filed a report under Sections 281 and 125 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), citing negligent driving as the primary offense.

Video evidence prompts harsher allegation

Close scrutiny of surveillance footage revealed that the driver deliberately steered his vehicle toward Siya’s bike after she refused to stop at a hand signal. Based on this observation, investigators added Section 109 of the BNS—pertaining to attempted murder—to the charge sheet.

Search operation and arrest

Three specialized teams were deployed to locate Bainsla after he fled the scene on September 13. Their coordinated effort culminated in his apprehension in Dausa, where he is now being interrogated.

What transpired on the road

Siya, riding an Aprilia RS 457 alongside a group of bikers, reported that the car driver first signaled her to halt. When she continued, the driver allegedly accelerated and rammed the car into her motorcycle, a moment captured and later shared on Instagram.

Section 109 of the BNS carries a maximum imprisonment term of ten years. Authorities will use the interrogation to reconstruct the full sequence of events and verify the details presented in the video evidence.
