Pithoragarh. Sheetal has once again proved her mettle in the campaign organized by Climbing Beyond the Summit (CBTS). Sheetal has succeeded in hoisting the tricolor on Mount Elbrus on the Russia-Georgia border. Sheetal has earlier hoisted the tricolor on inaccessible peaks like Everest, Kanchenjunga, and Annapurna. Sheetal told that due to the cancellation of the flight, his campaign started with a delay of 3 days. Reaching Moscow on 13 September, his team built its base camp at an altitude of 3600 meters. Then the next day on the night of August 14, he left for the summit.

Sheetal told that finally in the afternoon of 15 August, he got success in hoisting the tricolor on the Elbrus peak. Elbrus peak is present at an altitude of 5 thousand 6 hundred 42 meters. It is very difficult to summit from base camp within 48 hours. So far very few climbers have successfully reached the Elbrus peak in such a short time.

Sheetal achieved success with hard work
Mount Elbrus is a dormant volcano, which is present in the Caucasus mountain range. It has two peaks. The western peak of the Caucasus mountain range is 5 thousand 6 hundred 42 meters high, while the eastern peak is at a height of 5 thousand 6 hundred 21 meters. CBTS founder member Yogesh Garbyal told that Sheetal belongs to a poor family. Sheetal’s father drives a taxi in Pithoragarh, but he has achieved this position with hard work.

Twin brothers named Tarun and Tapan were associated with CBTS last year. Tarun and Tapan are the first twin Indian brothers to hoist the tricolor on the Elbrus peak. Tarun and Tapan have taken mountaineering training in the Darma Valley of Pithoragarh. The target of these two twin brothers is to hoist the tricolor together in Everest. Jigmit Thurchin of Ladakh was also in the team of 4 Indian members that hoisted the tricolor on Elbrus. A 4-member team of CBTS had left for Europe from Delhi on August 11.
