Details of the Complaint

A 22‑year‑old woman from Banka approached the Bhargama police station in Araria district, filing a formal FIR against Mohammad Rabban, who resides in Ward 7 of Dhaneshwari Panchayat. She claims Rabban hid his real name and repeatedly demanded cash throughout a six‑year relationship.

How the Relationship Started

The complainant says she lived with her family in Delhi’s bustling Sabzi Mandi market. It was there that she met Rabban, who introduced himself as “Sonu.” According to her account, the two maintained a romantic involvement for nearly six years.

Marriage Proposal Triggers Dispute

When she asked Rabban to marry her, he allegedly called her to his native village. Accompanied by her mother and brother, she traveled to Dhaneshwari Panchayat, only to discover that a clash erupted between the two families, bringing any wedding plans to an abrupt halt.

Allegations of Financial Exploitation

She further asserts that Rabban took money from her on several occasions during their liaison. After the marriage proposal fell apart, she turned to the police to recover the funds and lodge a complaint for alleged deception.

Attempts at Community Mediation

Local residents intervened, trying to broker a settlement, but the discussions broke down. Consequently, the woman submitted a written application to the Bhargama police outlining her grievances.

Police Investigation Update

Bhargama SHO Rajesh Kumar confirmed receipt of the complaint and said it is currently under review. He noted that, so far, no concrete proof of monetary fraud has been produced. Authorities will verify the allegations against the available evidence before deciding on any further legal steps.
