Senior Student Brandishes Weapon, Throws Shri Kund‑Kund Jain Inter College into Panic
On Thursday morning, a senior pupil slipped into the premises of Shri Kund‑Kund Jain Inter College in Muzaffarnagar, clutching a homemade pistol. Claiming he had come to clear his dues, he bypassed the locked main gate and headed straight for a classroom where a Class 10 learner was seated.
Gunfire Erupts, Chaos Ensues
Inside the room the teenager is alleged to have fired a shot. Although the bullet missed, the sharp crack reverberated through the corridors, sending students and staff into a state of alarm. Principal Anurag Jain, accompanied by teachers, rushed in, only to find the assailant pointing the gun at the principal as well.
Why the Violence?
According to the accused, the younger boy and several of his friends had verbally taunted and physically assaulted him earlier in the week. Police suspect the shooting was a retaliatory act for an incident two days prior, when the Class 10 group reportedly struck the senior with sticks.
Staff Intervene, Police Arrive
Through calm dialogue, teachers managed to disarm the shooter and secure the firearm. Law enforcement was alerted, and officers recovered the pistol along with two cartridges. The suspect was taken into custody for further questioning.
Principal’s View on Campus Safety
Principal Jain noted that the student’s pretext of fee payment initially lowered any suspicion, as the school’s entry point is locked once students pass through, limiting escape routes. He commended the faculty’s swift action, which averted a potentially tragic outcome.
Investigation Ongoing
Investigators are now reconstructing the timeline of the earlier altercation and the subsequent shooting. The Class 10 student emerged unharmed, and the case remains under police scrutiny.
