Accident Summary
A sleeper coach traveling south from Srinagar to Jammu lost traction and rolled over on the Jammu‑Srinagar National Highway (NH‑44) close to the village of Marog in Ramban district. The bus was packed with 55 passengers at the time of the mishap.
Injured Parties
The crash left 33 individuals requiring medical attention. Hospital data indicates that 29 men and four women were treated for various injuries. Among those hurt, 32 were tourists from West Bengal and one was a citizen of Nepal.
Medical Care
All the victims were initially taken to the District Hospital in Ramban for first‑aid treatment. Nine of them, whose conditions were deemed critical, were subsequently transferred to the Government Medical College in Jammu, where they remain under observation.

Police, rescue teams, and district officials rushed to the scene as soon as the incident was reported. Coordinated by senior traffic and district officers, the operation succeeded in extracting the passengers, providing immediate aid, and clearing the wreckage.
Effect on Highway Traffic
The overturned vehicle blocked the Jammu‑bound lane of NH‑44 for several hours, causing a temporary slowdown. After the bus was removed, normal traffic flow resumed.
