Dehradun. Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat launched Senior Citizen National Helpline Elderline 14567 in Uttarakhand in a program organized at STPI Building, IT Park, Dehradun.

Helpline 14567 has been started for the welfare of senior citizens by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, and Government of Uttarakhand. The Chief Minister said that in line with the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, this helpline would be helpful in resolving the problems of the elderly. The Chief Minister said that everyone should come forward to help the elderly. For this public awareness is very important. A large number of senior citizens are leading a lonely life in the remote and mountainous areas of Uttarakhand. We have to reach out to all of them and solve their problems. It is necessary to bring awareness to the village level. Information about schemes and programs operated for the welfare of senior citizens should be given up to the village level.

The Chief Minister expressed hope that helpline 14567 would be a suitable platform to address the problems of the elderly and also provide emotional support to them.

Cabinet Minister Yashpal Arya said that with this helpline, the problems of senior citizens will be solved sitting at home. This will not only be a call center but will become a connecting center in the true sense. Mr. Arya said that the employees working at the call center should be tactful. Departmental officers should also monitor it continuously.

Additional Secretary Social Welfare Ram Vilas Yadav said that the National Helpline (Elder Line-14567) has been established by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, and Department of Social Welfare, Uttarakhand to provide assistance and essential services to senior citizens. It can be contacted from 8 am to 8 pm.

On this occasion, officers of Artiva Group, which runs the Social Welfare Department and Call Center, including Principal Secretary El Fanai were also present. District Magistrates of the districts were also present through video conferencing.
