Overview of the latest IGNOU non‑teaching recruitment

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) headquartered in New Delhi has launched a new selection process for fourteen non‑teaching positions. The advertisement (No. 69/2026/Admn.) invites applications for Assistant Director, Technical Manager and Technical Assistant posts.

Available posts, vacancies and eligibility criteria

Assistant Director – 2 posts

Eligible candidates should possess a BE/B‑Tech, M.Sc. or MCA in Computer Science/IT with at least 55 % aggregate and a minimum of ten years relevant experience. Age limit: 48 years. Pay scale: Level‑10.

Technical Manager – 4 posts

Candidates must hold a BE/B‑Tech, M.Sc. or MCA in the relevant discipline, secure at least 55 % marks and have five years of professional experience. Age ceiling: 42 years. Pay scale: Level‑10.

Technical Assistant – 8 posts

The same academic qualifications apply (BE/B‑Tech, M.Sc. or MCA in Computer Science/IT with ≥55 % marks). Maximum age: 37 years. Salary follows Pay Level‑8.

Age relaxation is provided as per Central Government guidelines for SC, ST, OBC, PwD, ex‑servicemen and government servants.

Application window and fee structure

The online portal will be active from 3 October 2026 until 23:59:59 on 2 November 2026. Application fees are Rs 1,000 for General, OBC‑NCL and EWS candidates, and Rs 500 for SC, ST, PwD, ex‑servicemen and women. Payments can be made through debit/credit cards, net‑banking or mobile wallets.

Selection process

Depending on the post, the university may assess applicants through qualification screening, experience verification, written or computer‑based examinations, skill tests and personal interviews. Candidates should refer to the official notification for the exact selection criteria for their chosen vacancy.

Hard‑copy submission – mandatory step

After completing the online form, applicants must print the application, attach self‑attested copies of all required certificates (educational, experience and category, where applicable) and dispatch the package to the university.
