Firozpur. Anticipating a massive spike in passenger traffic during the festive period, Northern Railway has launched a dedicated special train connecting Firozpur Cantt with Purnia, offering extra capacity for travelers heading to Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
Operating under train numbers 04634/04633 Firozpur Cantt‑Purnia‑Firozpur Cantt Special, the service will run eight times in each direction. Departures from Firozpur are scheduled every Thursday from 8 October to 26 November, while the return journeys from Purnia will leave each Saturday between 10 October and 28 November.
Departure and arrival timings
According to railway officials, train 04634 will depart Firozpur Cantt at 5:30 pm and arrive in Purnia around 3:00 am after a journey lasting roughly 33 hours 30 minutes.
On the return leg, train 04633 is slated to leave Purnia at 6:00 am and reach Firozpur Cantt at about 4:35 pm the following day, covering the distance in approximately 34 hours 35 minutes.

The special service will call at a string of important stations in Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, providing vital links for holiday‑bound passengers.

Composition of the rake
The train will consist of 16 coaches: five AC 3‑tier coaches, six sleeper class coaches and five general‑unreserved coaches.
Railway officials emphasise that the additional service is aimed at relieving pressure on regular trains and giving holiday‑makers a reliable alternative for reaching their homes.
With Durga Puja, Diwali and Chhath approaching, demand on routes linking Punjab with eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar is expected to stay high. This special express is designed to accommodate the surge and make festive journeys smoother for passengers.
