Enforcement Directorate Executes Raids at 17 Sites Linked to Amrit Group Amid Investor Fraud Claims

Kolkata. In a significant turn in a money‑laundering probe, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) launched coordinated search operations on Wednesday at roughly 17 premises associated with Amrit Group companies and their promoters in Kolkata and Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The moves are linked to allegations of an investment‑related scam.

According to the agency, the raids were conducted under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The investigations stem from accusations that a large number of investors were duped through fraudulent schemes.

High‑Yield Promises That Never Materialised

Investigators allege that Amrit Group’s entities and their directors solicited public funds via assorted deposit plans, touting unusually high returns. It is claimed that the promised payouts were never honoured, leaving investors at a loss.

The ED’s action forms part of a broader inquiry into the purported financial irregularities and the accompanying money‑laundering dimensions of the case. Officials have not yet disclosed specifics about the documents, electronic data or other evidence seized during the searches.

As of now, neither Amrit Group nor its promoters have offered a comment on the enforcement agency’s operation.
